On route, we stop in the town of Encañana. Welcome to the Andean home! Reception by the farmers and moving in to the rooms where you will begin your grand adventure of finding and interchanging of culture. After the “settling in”, we take the “almuerzo de las 12” (noon lunch). Among the Andean people, workers and sheep breeders, lunch time is very important and it is within a strong ritual context. We sit around a legless table, in a circle, where the family shares the meal with us, eating while looking at each other. The 7:00 pm dinner. It's the moment where the family talks about the tasks of the day, the accomplishments, problems and what they have to prepare for the next day. In our Experiential Tour, this dinner will serve to plainly understand the farmer’s culture. We then retire for the evening.

We will get up with crow of the roosters to begin gathering the eggs from the protesting hens. We also help the women in preparing the bread for a typical Andean breakfast. We could then participate directly in the seeding of vegetables and other products in “Las Huertas Turisticas” or “the Tourist Orchards”, this will be harvested by later arriving group of tourists, which is to say, the tourists grow their own food. Afterwards, we realize a trek to the observation point, “Las Torres”, where we can appreciate a marvelous view. Lunch. “12 o’clock lunch” will be different than the one realized yesterday. Afterwards, we take a well deserved rest and relaxation period to enjoy and contemplate the scenery. Appreciate the textile and Artisan Abilities: You will be able to appreciate the textile, handicraft, and architectonic abilities and to of the artisans and also demonstrate your own abilities in these arts. It will contribute in a truly intensely existential interchange. Trek to Tambo Mayo: We next trek to Tambo Mayo where we will visit a trout fishing farm, hydraulic mill and local cemetery. Dinner and Narration of Myths and Legends: Dinner time arrives and later we enjoy the stories, legends, myths and traditions, even life’s anecdotes and farmers’ jokes, all for a wonderful and ingenuous candor. Mystic Ritual for the thankfulness of the Apus and Mother Earth. After dinner, we will walk to the Apu or sacred mountain, “La Carshga”, which in Quechua means, rough. We listen to the noises of the night as we start a bon fire to begin the mystic ritual for the offerings of the sacred mountains and “la Pachamama” (mother earth) and ancestral Andean gods that couldn’t be extinguished from the souls of the Andean people in spite of the western worlds religion domination. These events help the Andean people adapt and combine their own sacred visions with the western religion. The time comes to “Chacchar” or to chew the sacred coca leaf that always is accompanied in this ritual of drinking the “cañazo”. Traditional INCA cigarettes are smoked and we recite some songs and auguries, all this makes us feel the nature and understand better the Andean cosmovision. We then retire for the night.
