LIMA - CHACHAPOYAS - KUELAP

DAY 1: LIMA
Meeting and assistance upon arrival at Lima International Airport. Transfer to your hotel. If your flight arrives in the morning then remainder of the day at your leisure.

DAY 2: LIMA
Colonial Lima

Pick up from the Hotel to start a complete City Tour of three hours aprox. Where we will see its beautiful San Martin Square and the Main Square of Lima (Plaza Mayor). We will visit 2 Religious Art Museums: The Cathedral and the Church and Monastery of San Francisco de Asís, with its Library that is considered the second most important of Latin America, its beautiful Sacristy, The Main Cloister and the Catacombs that was the first cemetery of Lima. Then we will continue with the Residential and modern area of San Isidro and Miraflores.Finally, we will walk through the old town of Barranco where we will see the Bridge of the Sighs and the Central Square

Return to the Hotel.

DAY 3: LIMA - CHICLAYO - CHACHAPOYAS
Breakfast. Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport for your early morning flight to Chiclayo. Upon arrival in Chiclayo you will be picked up and transfer to the hotel.
In the morning we leave for Chachapoyas in private transportation (approximate duration of the trip: 7-8 hours). Box lunch. Transfer to the hostal El Chillo for dinner and to stay overnight.

DAY 4: CHACHAPOYAS - KARAJIA - LEIMEBAMBA
Breakfast. We leave for Lamud to visit the sarcophagi at Karajia. These are statues of human figures, which stand 8 feet high, made of hardened clay and are wedged into a mountain cliff. Later on we will go to Leimebamba to visit the museum of Centro Malqui, which houses 200 pre-Inca mummies recently discovered in the Laguna de los Condores. Return to the hostal El Chillo for dinner and to stay overnight.

DAY 5: CHACHAPOYAS - KUELAP

Breakfast. We leave in private transportation to the Kuelap Fortress, the bastion of the Chachapoyas tribe, which were conquered by the Incas. Kuelap is a spectacular pre-Inca walled city of nearly of 400 buildings hidden of the top pf an Andean Mountain ridge at an altitude of 9900 feet above sea level. It is located in the left bank of the Uctubamba River. It has been calculated that some forty million cubic feet of building material was used at Kuelap, three times the volume needed to construct the Great Pyramid of Egypt. Box lunch. On the way back to our hostal, we will visit the burial towers of Macro. Return to El Chillo for dinner and stay overnight.

DAY 6: CHACHAPOYAS - CHICLAYO
Breakfast. In the morning we return to Chiclayo arriving in the afternoon. Transfer to your hotel.

DAY 7: CHICLAYO - LIMA
Breakfast. Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the Chiclayo Airport for your flight to Lima. Pick up from the Lima Airport and transfer to your hotel. Remainder of day at your leisure. Transfer to the Lima Airport for your flight home.
