LIMA - IQUITOS - HELICONIA LODGE

DAY 1: LIMA
Colonial Lima

Meeting and assistance upon arrival at Lima International Airport. Transfer to your Hotel. If your flight arrives in the morning then remainder of the day at your leisure.

DAY 2: LIMA
Pick up from the Hotel to start a complete City Tour of three hours aprox. Where we will see its beautiful San Martin Square and the Main Square of Lima (Plaza Mayor). We will visit 2 Religious Art Museums: The Cathedral and the Church and Monastery of San Francisco de Asís, with its Library that is considered the second most important of Latin America, its beautiful Sacristy, The Main Cloister and the Catacombs that was the first cemetery of Lima. Then we will continue with the Residential and modern area of San Isidro and Miraflores.Finally, we will walk through the old town of Barranco where we will see the Bridge of the Sighs and the Central Square

Return to the Hotel.

DAY 3: LIMA - HELICONIA LODGE
Breakfast. Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Iquitos. Upon arrival in Iquitos transfer to the Port of Bellavista, a pier located 4 Km to the north of Iquitos. From here, we journey on the River Nanay where we can visit a native community and enjoy their dances and crafts. Later on, navigate on the Amazon River for about four hours voyage to the town of Yanamono, about 80 Km from Iquitos. Here is where the Heliconia Lodge is located. A welcome drink is offered as well as time to get used to the jungle air. Lunch. Afterwards, a 2 hour walk though the rain forest with a guided expert. All the while identifying botanical species, medicinal plants and impressive trees. Return to the Lodge for rest. At dusk, we take a night cruise through the Quebrada Manco, a tributary of the River Amazon, to stop and star gaze and enjoy the night time jungle sounds. Dinner and Lodging.

DAY 4: HELICONIA LODGE
Early day tour in a tributary of the Amazon River for birds watching and see the water lilies knows as Victoria Regias Enjoy the jungle dawn on an observation deck 8 meters high. Breakfast. Approximately at 10 a.m., visit the surroundings of Yanamono where you visit “Trapiche”. Return to lodging. Lunch. Afternoon boat tour for some fishing. Fishing includes fishing various species, including Pirañas and other species. If you are lucky, you may find Pink Dolphins swimming nearby. Return to Lodging for dinner.

DAY 5: HELICONIA LODGE - IQUITOS
Breakfast in the lodge. At 9:00 a.m. return to the city of Iquitos. Transfer to your Hotel in Iquitos. Remainder of day is free. Lodging.

DAY 6: IQUITOS - LIMA
Breakfast. Transfer to Iquitos airport for return flight to Lima. Transfer to your Hotel in Lima. Transfer to the Lima’s Airport or your flight home.
